What is a Moscow Mule?

The Moscow Mule is one of the most popular drinks in the world. It is traditionally made from vodka, ginger beer and lime juice, which makes it super easy to mix. This simplicity combined with its versatility is the reason for the Moscow Mule's success. If you replace vodka with gin, you can easily get a London Mule without much effort.

What does a non-alcoholic Moscow Mule taste like?

A Moscow Mule is an experience: the ice-cold copper mug hits your lips with a frosty sensation, while the scent of mint and ginger fills your nose. With the first sip, you feel the hot, cold burn of ginger and a delicate acidity spreads. A Moscow Mule tastes like liquid winter on hot summer days!

We will conjure you up with Laori Juniper No 1 your perfect non-alcoholic Moscow Mule -  without a hangover the next day. Our Laori Mule combines the citrus bergamot aromas of the Laori No 1 with the intense freshness of lime juice. The taste is complemented by the tingling spiciness of ginger beer. This makes our non-alcoholic Moscow Mule just as delicious and refreshing as its alcoholic counterpart!

Why do you serve a Moscow Mule in a copper mug?

No other drink, apart from the Moscow Mule, uses a copper mug. Why is that? The story behind it will surprise you: Legend has it that the Moscow Mule originated in the USA in the 1940s, more specifically in Los Angeles.

One evening, two gentlemen, John G. Martin and John A. Morgan, sat together and both shared a similar fate. Martin had to market vodka for his company. At the time, it was almost impossible! Morgan brought a new ginger lemonade onto the market and also had problems getting rid of it. In addition, Morgan's girlfriend had 2,000 copper mugs in stock that also couldn't be sold. Three problems and one solution: the Moscow Mule! It is said to have been invented that night and is therefore also partly responsible for the popularity of vodka in the USA.
