2. non-alcoholic alternative to mulled gin
In addition to the classic mulled wine, more and more alcoholic mulled drinks have made a name for themselves at Christmas markets in recent years. First and foremost: mulled gin! We will show you how you can make your own with our Laori Juniper No 1 you can conjure up a delicious non-alcoholic alternative! Fruity, spicy, tasty - and you don't have to worry about a hangover!
Ingredients
- 100 ml Laori Juniper No 1
- 500 ml of cloudy apple juice
- 200 ml currant juice
- 3 oranges
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 5 cloves
- 2 tablespoons honey / agave syrup
Glass & Decoration
- cup or mug and fresh orange zest for decoration
preparation
- Halve 2 oranges and squeeze out the juice, cut the remaining orange into slices
- Bring the orange juice, apple juice and currant juice to the boil together with the spices, then reduce the heat to low
- orange slices and Laori Juniper No 1 add and let it steep for 15 minutes
- Strain through a sieve and season with honey or agave syrup
- Divide between cups and garnish with fresh orange zest. Enjoy!
3. Non-Alcoholic Moscow Mule – Laori Mule
The Moscow Mule is a perfect winter drink. The warm feeling of ginger in the throat, the scent of mint and a slight acidity: all this describes the non-alcoholic Moscow Mule . We will conjure up magic for you Laori Juniper No 1 non-alcoholic, liquid winter in your glass!
Ingredients
- 4 cl Laori Juniper No 1
- 1 cl lime juice
- 15 cl ginger beer, e.g.Spicy Ginger by Thomas Henry
- ice cubes
Glass & Decoration
- Highball or classic copper mug
- mint & fresh lime for garnish
preparation
- Add ice cubes to the highball glass or copper mug
- Laori Juniper No 1 and add the lime juice
- Pour in ginger beer and stir once
- Garnish with half a lime slice and mint leaves. Enjoy!
4. Vegan vanilla crescents
Christmas time is cookie time! We are particularly fond of this vegan vanilla crescent recipe. It is quick and easy and will give you magical cookies!
Ingredients
- 150 g spelt flour
- 50 g powdered sugar
- 50 g grated almonds
- 1 teaspoon ground vanilla
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 90 g margarine
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
For pollination:
- 35 g powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground vanilla
preparation
- Preheat the oven to 165 degrees and line a baking tray with baking paper
- Sift the spelt flour and icing sugar into a bowl, mix in the ground almonds, ground vanilla and vanilla sugar
- Add margarine cut into small pieces and add the lemon juice
- Knead the ingredients with both hands until you can form the dough into a ball.
- Divide the dough into 5-6 portions, knead each portion into a ball and roll it out lengthwise on a work surface
- Cut off pieces of dough the size of gnocchis, roll them between the palms of your hands into sausages and place them slightly curved on the baking tray
- Bake the vanilla crescents for 12 minutes, they should not get dark, but only slightly brown at the ends
- Mix the powdered sugar with the ground vanilla and sift over the vanilla crescents. Enjoy!
5. Chocolate-covered fruits
We all know chocolate fruits from Christmas and fairs. But you can also easily make them yourself at home. You only need a few ingredients and there are no limits to your creativity.
Ingredients
- fruit of your choice
- 500 g of couverture or chocolate
- wooden skewers
preparation
- Wash the fruit and cut it into bite-sized pieces. Then put it on the skewers. Either one type per skewer or mixed
- To prepare the water bath, fill a large pot with water and hang a smaller pot inside.
- Chop the chocolate and put it in the smaller pot and let it melt. Stir several times
- As soon as the chocolate coating has melted, the fruit is covered in chocolate. Place the finished skewers on a tray and let them cool. Enjoy!
6. Roasted nuts
Whether almonds, peanuts or cashews: roasted nuts are the Christmas market classic par excellence.Today we'll show you how you can easily make roasted nuts at home! The good thing about it is that the roasted nuts are not only cheaper than at the Christmas market, but you can choose whatever you want!
Ingredients
- 250 g nuts of your choice
- 200 g sugar
- 125 ml of water
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 pinch of salt
preparation
- Line a baking tray with baking paper
- In a saucepan, on the highest heat, mix the sugar together with salt, cinnamon and water and as soon as the sugar solution starts to boil, add the nuts and stir well
- Reduce heat to medium and simmer until the water has evaporated and the sugar has crystallized again, stirring occasionally
- When the sugar has started to crystallize, you should start stirring continuously until the nuts start to shine
- Immediately remove the nuts from the heat, spread them on the baking tray and allow to cool. Enjoy!
